A New Look!
Fifteen months and counting that this little business venture has been on its journey; and my what a wonderful, busy, whirlwind of months it has been!
When I started The Herbal Spectacle, I was nervous, excited, scared and hopeful. I was nervous to take the plunge to truly owning my own business. I was nervous to pay business taxes, deal with legalities, and formulate an LLC. I was excited at the thought of formulating a business that would one day be my main source of income. I was scared at the thought of failing and not having any customers and though I was scared, I was hopeful. I was hopeful that those customers would come and I would be able to provide my community and beyond with a form of herbal eye care and wellness products to help people live a more natural lifestyle. Fifteen months. Fifteen months later and the little seed I planted is starting to mature into an amazing, growing flower. A flower that I am so proud of and can't wait to see its beautiful blossoms spread like wildfire throughout these mountains!
With growth comes change & change my friends, can be a good thing.
When I started this business I knew I needed a way to tell the public that I focused on herbal medicine geared toward eye health and overall wellness, in addition to selling eco-friendly eyewear. The word spectacle in my business name does not mean a visually striking performance or display; instead it means lens -- like spectacle lenses. As an optician and nearsighted lady, lenses and frames are all I have known since I was young. Years later, they became my job; working with clients in an optometry office conducting medical testing and helping them to pick out the perfect frames and lenses. As an herbalist, natural living is my way of life; a way of life I was taught at a young age and carried with me throughout my years. In our house we use herbal medicine daily, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Now -- how to get my message across to the public? A logo that encompasses both worlds of course!
My friend Nicole Fava is the only person I know who will go to a Chinese buffet with me. She is also the only person I know who would be a complete sweetheart and make my logo dreams comes true while dealing with my indecisive self.
A genius when it comes to graphic design, Nicole turned my first doodle of a logo idea into a beautiful masterpiece, which allowed the public to know exactly what my business is about with minimal wording. As the business has grown, I developed a need for my logo to evolve. With the ever-changing amount of products I create, I needed various shapes for my logo. Various shape ideas turned into me wanting different fonts and eventually I decided I needed to let my non-local clients know where their products were coming from. All of my needs melded together, once again, Nicole provided me with an amazing logo. She encompassed everything I could ever want into a few designs and turned the project around in days.
What's wonderful about Nicole, is that she won't just design you a logo -- she's a digital marketing professional as well and can provide you with all kinds of insight on how to market your business with the right graphic design work. She answered every question I had about building my brand and gave me professional advice I would expect to get from a corporate level design firm. Without her support in making my brand what I truly wanted, this business wouldn't have the look it needed, and in turn, truly may not have been successful.
I'm all about supporting local and of course I'm all about supporting small business. If you're in the market for any type of design work, Nicole Fava is your lady. With over seven years of experience, Nicole is affordable, fast, and an amazing artist who will make your dreams come true. Check out this freelance graphic designer and digital marketing professional when you get a chance. Tell her The Herbal Spectacle sent you and receive 10% off a pair of bamboo sunglasses-- support two small businesses and snag some sweet shades, damn, it doesn't get much better than that!
